7th Annual Fremont Troll Stroll to Benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Seattle, WA — April 2, 2008 — The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CF Foundation) is hosting the 7th Annual Fremont Troll Stroll on April 26, 2008, from 1-5 p.m. in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood. This event is an annual fund-raiser held by the CF Foundation in an effort to support its mission of “assuring the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.” In its seventh year, the Troll Stroll aims to raise $35,000 net, a 6% increase from last year’s event revenue.
The Troll Stroll includes a stop at six well-known establishments in Fremont, where participants will enjoy drink and food specials. Participating establishments include The Triangle Lounge, Dad Watson’s, The Red Door, The Ballroom, Norm’s Eatery and Ale House, and Nickerson Street Saloon. After the Troll Stroll, The Nectar Lounge will be hosting an After Party featuring a live performance by The Senate, “Seattle’s Rock and Roll String Band” (www.senateband.com). The After Party is made possible, in part, by The Crew, the Seattle Repertory’s dynamic social and subscriber group for young professionals (www.seattlerep.org/TheCrew.html). The After Party is also open to nonparticipants on a space-available basis, and tickets will be sold at the door beginning at 5:15 p.m.
Participants can register on-line at: www.acteva.com/go/cftrollstroll.

The CF Foundation is a nonprofit, donor-supported organization, with a mission to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease. The CF Foundation is the leading organization in the United States devoted to cystic fibrosis. It funds and accredits more than 115 CF care centers, 95 adult care programs and 50 affiliate programs, and has 80 fund-raising chapters and branch offices nationwide.
Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). In the 1950s, few children with cystic fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.
